Dear Esteemed Members, Distinguished Guests, and Supporters of SLHO Rotterdam,

I am deeply honoured and humbled by the confidence and trust that the membership of the Sierra Leone Humanitarian Organization (SLHO) Rotterdam has placed in me through my unanimous election as Chairman.

I sincerely thank all members for their support and for the opportunity to serve our organization in this important capacity. I accept this responsibility with humility, gratitude, and a strong commitment to advancing the aims and objectives of SLHO Rotterdam.

Today’s election is not a victory for one individual. Rather, it is a victory for unity, democracy, and the collective vision of our organization. I am particularly grateful to all 35 voting members who participated in this important process and demonstrated their commitment to the continued growth and development of SLHO.

As Chairman, I pledge to lead with integrity, transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness. I will work closely with the Executive Committee, advisers, members, and partners to strengthen our organization and ensure that every member has an opportunity to contribute to our shared success.

Together, we will continue to build on the strong foundation laid by those who have served before us. We will focus on strengthening member engagement, promoting community development, supporting humanitarian initiatives, and creating opportunities that benefit our members and the wider community.

One of our immediate priorities will be the successful organization of the African Festival Rotterdam & Free BBQ 2027, which will serve as a platform for celebrating culture, promoting unity, and strengthening community partnerships across Rotterdam and beyond.

I firmly believe that our strength lies in our unity. Let us put aside any differences, work together in a spirit of mutual respect, and remain focused on the mission and vision of SLHO Rotterdam.

I encourage every member to remain actively involved and to continue contributing ideas, skills, and support as we move forward together.

Once again, I thank you for your confidence in me. I look forward to serving SLHO Rotterdam and working alongside each of you during the next two years.

The Sierra Leone Humanitarian Organization (SLHO) Rotterdam successfully held its General Meeting on Sunday, 27 September 2026, with a strong turnout of members and constructive discussions on key organizational matters.

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Mustapha Kabba and provided an opportunity for members to review the progress of the organization, discuss future plans, and make important decisions regarding the leadership and direction of SLHO Rotterdam.

Key Discussions

Members considered several important agenda items, including:

Evaluation of membership participation and engagement.
Preparations and planning for the African Festival Rotterdam & Free BBQ 2027.
Review of the financial status at handover and the current financial position of the organization.
Organizational development and future activities.
Election of the Chairman of SLHO Rotterdam.

The discussions were conducted in a positive, respectful, and cooperative atmosphere, reflecting the commitment of members to the continued growth and success of the organization.

Chairmanship Election

A key highlight of the meeting was the election of the Chairman of SLHO Rotterdam.

Following deliberations by the membership, an election was conducted in accordance with the organization’s democratic principles. Mr. Mustapha Kabba was the sole candidate nominated for the position and received the full support of the membership.

All 35 eligible voting members present voted in favor of Mr. Kabba’s candidacy, resulting in his unanimous election as Chairman of SLHO Rotterdam for a two-year term.

The result reflects the confidence and trust that members have placed in his leadership and vision for the future of the organization.

Looking Ahead

The newly elected Chairman thanked members for their confidence and support and reaffirmed his commitment to serving the organization with dedication, transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness.

Under his leadership, SLHO Rotterdam will continue to focus on community development, humanitarian initiatives, cultural engagement, and the successful organization of the African Festival Rotterdam & Free BBQ 2027.
